GVMC Website a complete disappointment

Please visit the GVMC web site link:

Here is how it looks
This site appears to be made more for the Corporation themselves rather than for the public for whom the corporation exists.

GVMC collects tax from us and is supposed to serve the citizens of Vizag.
The GVMC web site should therefore be informative and designed to help the public.
While the site does have some important information it is buried deep and difficult to find.

For example these questions are not easily answered:

01. What is the postal address of GVMC?
02. What is the phone number of GVMC? What is the Customer Service Number?
03. Who is the sanitary inspector for my ward?
04. Who is my Corporator?

05. Which number should we contact for garbage removal?
06. If my neighbor is throwing garbage on the road - who should I complain to?
07. Which number to contact for Water Problems?
08. If a water line is leaking on the road whom should I contact in an emergency?
09. If street lights are not working who should I call?

10. The road has been dug up by Municipal workers and not paved. Who shall I call?
11. Sewage water is overflowing from a manhole in front of my house. Which number to contact for sewage problems?
12. Which number for Mosquito control? So much talk of Malaria control but no prominent number on the web site!
13. Which number for complaining against thin and substandard plastic bags?

14. Where can I see a ward vise map of Vizag?

Other facts about the site: 50% of the hyperlinks from the Home page do not work
The Reservoir Levels graphics, occupying pride of place on the site, is poorly designed
The length of the bars on the chart is not proportionate to the volume of water in the reservoir.
None of the reservoir hyperlinks work!

The bottom line is that our money is going into making and maintaining the web site.
The public desire transparency and current information.
GVMC's IT department must take responsibility to keep the site current, all links must work and the design should be user friendly.
The Commissioner of GVMC and his colleagues are doing a fine job.
Their web site should compliment and reflect all the good work by being more useful to the public.
If they are unable to maintain the site they should outsource the work.
